Why are you not using glass bottles?

Modified on Mon, 7 Jul at 4:56 PM

We choose to make our bottles from 50% recycled plastic, rather than glass. Here’s why:

  • Saves natural resources
Glass is made from sand, soda ash, and limestone. Sand is the second most used natural resource in the world, and removing it from rivers and coastlines contributes to flooding and rising sea levels.

  • Smarter recycling
Plastic is more efficient to recycle than glass. It takes just 10% of the energy to recycle plastic compared to making new plastic, while recycled glass still needs 66% of the energy of new glass production. Plastic recycling also uses less water and fossil fuels.

  • Lower carbon footprint
A 1L plastic bottle weighs about 12x less than glass, which means lower emissions from transport. It’s also made at much lower temperatures - less than 1/5th of what’s needed to produce glass.

  • Durable & reusable
Our bottles are designed to be refillable, reusable and long-lasting, especially in busy homes where cleaning products get used often. Plastic is shatterproof, lightweight, and much safer to handle, especially around little ones.

  • Better for everyday use
Plastic bottles are not only less likely to break during recycling, but they’re also stylish, practical, and made to be used again and again.
